About Us
Sanford Bros. is very much a family business, established in 1923 by Frank and Walter Sanford. The Company is now managed by the second and third generations.
We still retain one of the original shops at 3 Holborn Bars. This Elizabethan half timbered City of London landmark built between 1545 and 1589 is an ideal situation close to Hatton Garden, the centre of the jewellery trade and a short journey from London's West End. Our other branches are in Newbury, Tewkesbury, Stevenage and Alton.
We pride ourselves on a wide range of quality goods at reasonable prices some of which are displayed on this Web Site.
Making A Purchase
Once you have placed your order with Sanfords, we will contact you via email and let you know when your goods are going to be dispatched. (99% of goods are dispatched on a next day service).
Aternatively you can arrange to collect your purchase from any one of our shops which are listed in the "How to find us" page.
Shipping And Handling
Shipping and handling for all orders within the UK is included in the price.
For orders outside mainland UK a minimal postage charge will be added.
Tax Charges
Orders made within the European Community include VAT charged at 17.5%
Any orders from outside the EEC will have 17.5% deducted from the listed price.
i.e. If you order a bracelet from the USA and the listed price on our website is £117.50, you will be invoiced for £100.00 only, as you are VAT exempt.
If your order the same item from within the UK your total invoice would be £117.50.

Credit Card Security
We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Reaching Us Refunds and Exchanges*
If the goods you recieve are faulty or different from those ordered, we are happy to give a refund or exchange providing the goods are returned to us within 28 days of reciept. Please notify immediately either in writing (by letter or email) or telephone 01438 357773 if goods are faulty or wrong.
Refunds will be given by the same method that was used to pay and in the event of exchange any balance to pay by you or due to you will be made by same method.
Cooling off Period
If you are unhappy with any purchase made on our website, we will try our upmost to help you. Because your purchase will have been made by the distance selling methods (i.e via the internet, mail order or telephone) you are entitled by law to cancel the order within seven days after receipt of the goods. If you intend to return goods under this provision then please contact us immediately either by telephone, or in writing by letter or email.
Returns
Please ensure that when returning items that they are returned in good condition and in its correct gift and protective packaging to prevent the item from being damaged in the post. We recommend that when returning an item up to the value of £50.00 proof of postage should be obtained. When the item is over the value of £50.00, it should be sent by special delivery to ensure that the item is insured whilst in transit.
*Please note that we cannot offer exchanges or refunds on earrings for pierced ears for health and hygeine reasons, as well as personalised and specially ordered items. We also cannot accept or be responsible for the cost of your postage or any other charges you may incurr when returning the item. This does not affect your statutory rights.
